So since being back, I have been working on a project that aims to bring this group of Senegalese musicians, "Sous L'Arbre Acoustik," to the United States (at least Oregon and Washington) to tour universities and other institutions for a cultural exchange. We would offer workshops in Senegalese music and culture, African drumming, African dance, Cross cultural awareness, and French/Wolof language. I really want to try and pull this off, especially since these guys were such a huge part of my experience when I was in Senegal, and some of them have dreamed of coming to the USA to play for years. These guys have really become my family, I couldn't have asked for a better crew while I was there.
